Yorkshire Building Society Road Show
March / April 2003
In January, after a three way pitch, Ovation were commissioned to produce the 2003 Yorkshire Building Society road show. The six date event which took place in March and April presented the Society’s future plans to all of their employees. Although Ovation has worked for the Yorkshire Building Society in the past (winning IVCA Gold and Silver awards in the process) the result of the pitch was by no means a foregone conclusion. “In the end, Ovation’s creative ideas and understanding of the Society’s needs won them the project” said YBS’s Communications Manager David Holmes.
YBS Road Show Synopsis
The Yorkshire Building Society
employ over two thousand people.
Senior Management wanted to deliver three key motivational messages for 2003. A road show was considered the ideal method to achieve the communications objectives.
Initial
impact was created by the illusion of David Anderson, Chief Executive, literally
'Banging The Drum'.
Facial
prosthetics transformed the genuine drummer, convincing the audience this was no
ordinary business event.
Choreographed
percussionists paved the way for the business element, delivered by four senior
managers.
The
circular centre stage and style of presentation created a unique atmosphere.
After
main course, sweet and coffee the entire audience became a percussive orchestra,
each playing their own rhythm stick.
A rousing finale
saw the Yorkshire Brass Band, featured percussionist and the audience working
together to produce "The Big Noise From Yorkshire"

The evening concluded with live music from The Bogus Brothers - a splendid time was guaranteed for all.
